Association Diaries: Lessons from the pandemic (Part 1)

History may well remember the 21st century as a time that witnessed unimaginable loss and economic turbulence, fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic. But if you were to carefully analyze and ponder upon how the world has changed owing to the pandemic in the last 2-3 years, it could also be interpreted as the world’s most valuable teaching moment.

Organizations across the world learnt immensely about themselves, their abilities and shifted their focus to adapting to an ever-changing environment. Associations too have had their fair share of learning and have done well to quickly assess uncertain circumstances and transform themselves amidst the challenges. We recently had an opportunity to connect with association executives and leaders from across the globe and every conversation echoed a similar sentiment: The emphasis on reinvention, resilience and fostering a strong sense of community among members.
